The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) protects personal information of individuals via the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in Schedule 1 to the Privacy Act. The APPs set out standards, rights and obligations around the handling of personal information.
The Department of the Treasury (Treasury) manages privacy on behalf of Financial Adviser Standards.
