Domestic qualification assessments

Am I eligible for an assessment?

You should only proceed with a domestic qualification assessment if you:

  • have completed an approved degree or qualification; and
  • have not met the approved conditions as listed; and
  • have evidence to support that you have otherwise met the conditions.

Examples of not meeting the approved conditions include:

  • The unit code or name of an approved subject has changed.
  • Completing equivalent study without meeting the commencement date condition.
  • Completing equivalent subjects outside of your approved qualification.

You do not need to apply for approval if you:

  • have completed an approved qualification and meet all the conditions; or
  • are eligible to access the experienced provider pathway

Please note this is not an application for exemptions from the qualification requirements.

Before applying

Check if you need to do an ethics bridging unit. If so, you will need to complete this and provide evidence with your application. Please visit Approved qualifications for more information.

Request any supporting information from your higher education provider. For example email correspondence outlining how you otherwise meet the conditions.

Review how to make a valid Statutory Declaration.

Please allow several weeks for Treasury to assess your application. Treasury may request further information during this process.

Application outcome

You will receive the outcome in a Certificate of Assessment from Treasury.

You should keep your Certificate of Assessment along with your qualification. Your Australian Financial Services (AFS) licensee may request this information.
